What is the role of reverse osmosis membrane in water treatment equipment?

Reverse osmosis technology, abbreviated as RO, is a membrane separation technology that uses a semi permeable membrane to achieve solvent and solute separation under pressure. The principle of this technology is that when the pressure applied in the system is greater than the osmotic pressure of the inlet solution, water molecules will continuously pass through the membrane, while impurities in the water such as ions, organic matter, bacteria, viruses, etc. are trapped on the inlet side of the membrane, thus achieving the purpose of separation and purification.

The mechanism of action of reverse osmosis membrane

Separation and purification function: Reverse osmosis membranes allow water molecules to pass through through through their selective permeability, while retaining impurities in water such as ions, organic matter, bacteria, and viruses.

Desalination effect: Reverse osmosis equipment can effectively block soluble salts and organic matter with a molecular weight greater than 100, while allowing water molecules to pass through. The desalination rate is usually greater than 98%.
